  • What time can I check in and out?

    Checkin is between 4pm and 10pm. Outside these hours, check-in is also possible by use of a checkin code sent in advance. This code must be requested in advance.


    Checkout: max 10h30. Later checkout is possible with a supplement and according to availability.

  • Can I still check in if the reception is closed?

    The hotel is accessible at all times. If you check in after 10pm, you can do so via a check-in code.

  • If we are checked in,do we have to be at the hotel by a certain hour in the evening?

    No, upon check-in you will be given a key card and a code for the entrance door to the main building.  

    You can then leave and re-enter the hotel at any time afterwards.

  • Is breakfast included in the room rate?

    Breakfast is always included in the hotel room rate. 


    Breakfast is not included in the price of the apartments. 

    On request, breakfast can be added (15€/person) for the apartments.

  • What time is breakfast?

    During weekdays, breakfast is served between 7 am and 9:30 am.

    On request, we start at 6:30am.

    If breakfast is needed even earlier, we can prepare a breakfast package the night before.


    During weekends, breakfast is served between 8:30am and 10am. 

    Also during weekends, earlier breakfast is possible on request.

  • Is breakfast possible without gluten or other allergens?

    Yes, that is certainly possible. Just let us know in advance if there are any particular requirements. 

  • Can I have breakfast in the room?

    Breakfast in the room is certainly possible.

  • Can we have something to drink or eat at the hotel?

    In our lounge area is our self-service bar where you can find a nice selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at democratic prices.


    We do not provide lunch or dinner.  In the lounge area you can use the microwave to warm up something. Plates and cutlery are also available.

  • Is there Wi-Fi?

    Wifi is available free of charge.

  • Can you park easily?

    There is free parking on the property for all hotel rooms.


    Underground parking is provided for all apartments.


    Reservations are not necessary.

  • Can electric cars be charged?

    Abalona has 3 charging stations for electric vehicles.


    Charging is very easy, all you need is a charging card, which you have to hold in front of the charging point. If you do not have a charging card, we can charge the car with our charging cards, the charging costs will then be charged separately.

  • Can I order a gift for a special occasion?

    Romantic celebration package:


    Something to celebrate? Choose our Celebration Package. Rose petals, balloons, a small sweet and a bottle of sparkling wine or craft fruit juice in the room. And...enjoy a little longer thanks to check-out to 12am.

  • Can I get an invoice for my stay?

    Of course! Please provide us with your billing information prior to your visti or at checkin.

  • What are the cancellation and modification conditions?

    our cancellation conditions are:

     ABALONA hotel (rooms)


    Generic conditions (Individual booking up to 3 rooms)

    Less than 5 days before date : 100%


    Special conditions Groups (Any booking from 4 rooms):

    between 14 and 0 days before arrival : 100%

    between 3 months and 14 days before arrival: 50%

    between 5 months and 3 months before arrival: 25%


     ABALONA FLATS (apartments):


    Generic conditions (Individual booking of 1 apartment)

    Less than 30 days before date : 100%


    Special conditions Groups (Any booking from 2 apartments):

    Less than 30 days before arrival : 100%

    between 2 months and 30 days before arrival: 50%

    More than 2 months before arrival: 25%


    For any no-show or early departure, the amount of the original reservation will be charged in full as compensation and the reservation will be cancelled automatically.

  • Are pets allowed?

    We have a heart for animals but for hygienic and safety reasons, pets are not allowed in the hotel and apartments.

  • Is there a refrigerator or minibar in the rooms?

    All hotel rooms have an in-room mini fridge. 

    All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen, with refrigerator and separate freezer.

  • Is a shuttle service possible?

    Our own shuttle service is available upon request.


    Shuttles must be requested in advance, you can already indicate at the reservation if you would like to use this service.

    These costs will be charged at check-out.

  • Do we need to give the shuttle time in advance for the return trip?

    Arranging a time in advance is possible but not necessary. 


    You can also call us at the time you wish to be picked up.


  • What about our bicycle?

    You can safely park these in our locked bicycle storage area of the hotel. Sockets are also provided here for charging e-bikes.


  • Can we hike or bike nearby?

    Abalona received the label Bicycle Friendly Lodging because it is located at less than 5 Km from a recognized bicycle route, can offer special facilities for cyclists such as a bike shed, a bike repair kit, bike maps.


    You are very welcome here as a cyclist !


    Abalona is also located near junction 74 of the walking network Kalkense meersen.


    There are plenty of mapped out walking routes in the region.


    The sporty ones can go jogging from Abalona, in nature, along the river Scheldt, in a quiet environment...
